Opening Day at the BMI Farmers’ Market Saturday, May 7 – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Join us for the first day of our eighth annual waterfront market. With plenty of parking, a beautiful setting, and all your favorite vendors, this is a great way to spend your Saturday morning. Purchase fresh produce, local meat and eggs, oven-fresh bread and sweets, bright flowers, tasty ready-to-eat treats, artisan items, and more. Family-friendly activities offered throughout the season.

* Baltimore Then & Now Roundtable – Sunday, May 8 – 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Bringing together individuals from several of the historic locations featured in the Baltimore Then & Now exhibition, author and oral historian Jonathon Scott Fuqua (Maryland Institute College of Art) will lead a roundtable discussion of the changes Baltimore’s neighborhoods and industrial sites have undergone through the years.

Golf Tournament – Monday, May 9 – 12:00 PM Shotgun Start

Help support the museum by teeing off at our seventh annual BMI golf outing. Held at the exceptional Piney Branch Golf Club, this day-long event includes bag lunch, snacks, beverages, and buffet dinner, as well as contests with prizes.

$150 per person, $600 per foursome, includes greens fees. Advance tickets required, learn more here.

Bike Day – Saturday, May 14 – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Bring your bikes to the BMI for a safety inspection, learn the rules of the road, and ride around a safety course. Bike tune-ups will also be available. Presented in partnership with Bike Maryland and Race Pace Bicycles.

Big Truck Day – Saturday, May 21 – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Kids of all ages can climb aboard fire engines, police cars, work trucks, and more from the Baltimore City Department of Public Works in the museum’s parking lot. Games and activities available. Held rain or shine.

Wine & Canvas – Tuesday, May 24 – 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM

The BMI hosts Wine & Canvas, the painting class with wine. An instructor will guide participants step-by-step to paint a picture of the BMI’s crane and neon sign.

Through objects, stories, and photographs, labor historian Bill Barry shares the history of Sparrows Point and its people, exploring how globalization, national policy, and the mill’s closure have shaped the daily lives of its former employees.

Made in America – Sunday, June 26 – 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Meet the makers of some of the world’s finest furniture, lighting, and decorative accessories and learn how Maryland-made products set global standards for excellence in craftsmanship and design while creating jobs in Maryland. MADE: In America Chairman James DeLorbe will lead a panel discussion. Presented with All American House 2016.

Independence Day Celebration – mo, July 4 – 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Our waterfront location offers the best view of fireworks in the city. This family-friendly evening offers fun games, snacks and beverages for sale, and a fireworks finale. This is a sell-out event, so get your tickets early!
