About Us

Founded in 1977 as a project of the Mayor’s Office, the Baltimore Museum of Industry celebrates the past, present and future innovations of Maryland industry and its people through dynamic educational experiences. Each year, more than 160,000 visitors, students, teachers and families from Maryland and the surrounding areas enjoy the museum’s exhibits and educational programs and learn about the unique history of Maryland industries and the people who made them work. Our award-winning museum teacher-led activities teach students important lessons in industry, history, technology and the value of a day’s work, and our exhibits and artifacts fascinate both young and old alike. Located on the Inner Harbor, the Museum also boasts a spectacular view of Baltimore and is an ideal location for corporate events, weddings, family reunions and other functions.
