About us:

Built around 1794, Nine North Front Street was the home of the second Mayor of Baltimore, Thorowgood Smith. On display in the living room is an authentic indenture with Thorowgood Smith's signature and seal. The historic kitchen is as it appeared in that era when cooking was done on the hearth. Fireplaces decorate six of the massive rooms. The basement is an interesting architectual feature made of stone and brick. Additions were made to the house of the Women's Civic League, Inc. A complete restoration of this historic house was completed by the League in recent years.
