The birthplace of the American National Anthem - the valiant defense of Fort McHenry by American forces during a British attack on September 13-14, 1814, inspired Francis Scott Key to write "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Reservations are requested for groups to schedule films and group programs.
No tours offered. All visits are self-guided. Daily flag change is open to all visitors. This program provides information on the variety of flags used at Fort McHenry and their historical significance. The program is offered daily at 9:30am and 4:20pm, weather permitting.
Visitor Center and barracks exhibits are accessible. Parking lot and fort restrooms are accessible.
Free street parking for park visitors.
